Have you seen these beauties on Pinterest? I recently pinned them and thought these were a must try for this Christmas season. I figured tonight would be perfect because we were decorating our tree, but my dough was not pinwheel consistency....at all. It was way too soft. I have no idea if I messed up or the recipe really isn't right for rolling. Clearly the photo above shows gorgeous cookies, so I'm sure I must have goofed up. Anyhow, the sugar cookie recipe I use every year would work for these cookies and I like the taste of them better, so I hope to try again.
Since obtaining pinwheel cuties was not possible, I rolled some quick dough balls and dipped them in sprinkles instead. We ended up with marbled cookies, and the kids enjoyed them with milk after decorating the tree.
When life gives you mushy pinwheel dough, make marbled cookies. ;)
